DH2 will have more pop day one and keep its characteristics long after the Proto decambers. Ride construction is better than NS.

Surprised you aren't recommending other Ride options though lol.

Here. I think the DH2 is too stiff for what he wants. I was thinking buck wild or machete for him.

I didn't really bother to read the post to be honest.

Yeah DH2 is too much board. Get a 155 Buckwild if you want Ride.

Cheers for all the feed back. Haha as is the trouble when getting on board with forums, just when you think you've got a short list, more options open up.

Will look into the other boards you've mentioned. Preferably would like to get a ride as I can order it through work and save myself a bit of cash. But the Proto is so tasty...

It's really not that tasty. And it's really not worth the money when there are options like the Flow Era, Arbor Blacklist, Echelon Franken, or Forum Destroyer Doubledog, Ride Buckwild... Plenty of options under $500 that are just as good or better.

I would say stick with your shortlist since people agree that the boards are the right type of board for you. There are dozens of great, fun to ride snowboards out there made by many brands. There are fanboys and haters for all brands. Since you have the Evo, you know what Never Summer boards ride like and that helps a lot. Eventually, I'm sure you will want to try a board from a different brand (and you definitely should)... but when you are just starting out. Any board that is a good fit and your are comfortable/familiar is going to do the job.

Still going to be a while off until I get my new stick, season only just finished here, so still have plenty of time to make my mind up. Next thing to decide on is bindings ahaha.

Peace.

Was randomly scanning thru some NS threads and came across this post that caught my eye...Nivek, why do you think Ride has better construction than NS? Genuinely interested as NS obviously gets a lot of good press on build quality, are Ride boards that much better?

Anyone else with thoughts on this?
