The Agony of Choice.

Sup guys,
I came here for your advice because I am lost in the sheer endless snowboard choices but I am also open to new suggestions.
For the last years I've been riding the 2 setups.
Stepchild JibStick 149cm w/ Burton Cartel
and
Capita Horrorscope 156cm w/ Burton Cartel

This year I was planning on getting a new setup because my Horrorscope retired and my JibStick is for park only. I am usually riding in the German Alps and the mountains can get pretty icey, not the best experience with my JibStick.

Anyways I am looking for a 154-156cm board and would ride it
60% slopes
15% pow
15% rails/boxes
10% kickers

I enjoy an aggressive board but with enough playfullness to pull out the occasional fun off the slopes. Definitely Freestyle board.
'Was looking at the following boards combined with my new 32 Lashed and Rome 390 BOSS.

Never Summer Proto CT
Libtech Skate Banana BTX
Libtech TRS
GNU Riders Choice
Capita BSOD
Yes The Greats
Any suggestions or recommendations? Will one of those be too much of a park board or are there other boards you would recommend that would suit my style better?

Shoutouts from Germany.

proto would not be to much of a park board?

don't know about skate banana personally but my guess is that a lot of people here will tell you that banana is not what you are looking for,so between those two proto is an easy choice

Thanks for the advice Vukovi, unfortunately Never Summers are really hard to get hands on in Europe so uhm yeah.
Are there any other boards you guys would recommend or should I bet on Never Summer?!

Throwing in the Libtech TRS and GNU Riders Choice

last year i got the proto and my friend got the t.rice..you can see the difference in building and what does that 3 year warranty really means

meaning i hate how t.rice chips so easily and the fact that the edge doesnt go all the way around..

i can't tell you much about the other boards that you have suggested, but what i have read, and that is that all the boards that you have mentioned are good, and are up there with what you want, skate banana being the odd one...

if you can try as hard to get something from the NS(if proto is your choice then great) if not all those boards are good

Do you guys get Signal over there? If so, you might want to check out the Signal Omni. It was easily one of the best/most versatile all-mountain boards I rode last year. Among your list, the Gnu Riders Choice is also a very solid performer. I'm not stoked on the Banana. The BSOD might be OK. and although lots of people will say the Proto is the best board in the world I don't htink it's quite what you're looking for.

maybe this'll help you decide between the lib techs.

edit: oh, the TRS isn't in there. still though.

Hey David, I am a big fan of your and Leo's blog.
I was looked up the Omni and its 420€ in Germany. It's an okay price but at the same level as other high quality boards. Not sure if it's worth it.

I was also looking into Arbor Westmark/Blacklist.

I feel like the Blacklist would be too wide for me with my 9.5 32 Lashed boots and Rome 390 BOSS L/XL binding or am I mistaken?
The Westmark seems to be more of a park board.

Ugh... so many boards, so many choices...

Thanks Kung Martin, if I will go Libtech I will probably look into Skate Banana or TRS as it suits my style better.

I don't think I could settle for a pure freeride board. I enjoy jibs, butters and popping off anything way too much.

EDIT: After reading up on the Arbor Westmark, I am strongly leaning towards it. Sounds like an amazing board!

hey Ayukreizi

yeah with a 9.5 boot the Westmark is going to be what you want instead of the Blacklist (which is just the wider version of the Westmark). It is a park board but assuming the Westmark rides similar to the Blacklist, it should be capable of handling almost anything you throw at it.

Hey Ayukreizi, I'm suprised that you can't find never summers in Germeny. I live in Poland and here each NS model is pretty easy to find, so if you want it, maybe you can transport it to Germany. If so, i can give you contact to this distributor.

Sounds very good Doc Holliday, I would love that. The only NS I could find were 900 which is like 1200$, PRICEY!

Thanks David, would you recommend me the Westmark? According to your review you were quite happy with the board? I could get the Westmark for 300.
