To answer my own somewhat useless comment (sorry...haha)...there's tons of love for the Neversummer Proto on these forums. I've never ridden it so I cannot speak to its exact pros/cons but I know its a great freestyle/all mountain deck that will be able to handle whatever you throw at it. Someone who knows this deck better than me...feel free to chime in here...

It's an expensive board though. At this point in pre-season, there's about a 0.0001% chance of you finding a deal on last years model as this board was so popular (believe me...I've looked). You're looking at a $500+ purchase just for the board itself. Expensive, yes, but everyone here seems to adore it so you can't really go wrong...

I will also give an amen to the GNU Carbon Credit - my roommate rides one and loves it. Keep an eye out on the Clymb - GNU boards have been recycling on there for the past couple months.

I seem to be doing a better job than you. Check the stats.

Still waiting on those board suggestions, buddy.

Stop ruining everyone's thread and contribute something.

Can't go wrong with neversummer in my opinion. I have the ns evo and love it. They back up there excellent build quality with the best warranty. I would recommend the SL for you. The proto would be great to. The SL would probably do slightly better at high speeds, but don't take my word for it, I've never rode either but hear they are both great boards.

For something similar to the Burton Custom Flying V but a little bit more boutique, try the NeverSummer Heritage, Jones MountainTwin, or YES The Basic (just a little bit softer than the other two). Similar to the YES Basic, but even again a little bit softer and more playful, is the Slash Park (Slash is a new snowboard company from Gigi Ruf - they're manufactured by Nidecker). I know that it shouldn't matter, but this is also (in my opinion) one of the prettiest boards out right now!

Smokin, Venture, and Unity are all handmade in the good ol' USofA, super boutique, and make great product. I'm just not familiar enough woth their all-mountain/freestyle boards to recommend a specific one!

Thanks everyone! Def appreciate the help!

I'm going to check out the Neversummer, although everyone seems pretty diverse on which one would suit me. Also considering the Machete.

Now I can go into the shop with some good knowledge base.

Oh and someone asked for measurement. if anyone is still up for one more question. I am 5'9 and 155 lbs and size 10 shoe (maybe 9 depending on the boot). Any recommendations on size?
