Board size help
Hi am new to the forum, I am beginner to intermediate, 6'1 190-195 pounds. I just bought a rossignol krypto magtek 164 cm. just wondering if that board is too big for me? Should I be returning it for something small like 160-161? Any advise would be great! Thanks

I don't know anything about that board or what type or riding you intend to use it for but as a *very* broad generalization, someone who is 6'1" and 195lbs should be OK on a 164 for mostly all-mountain/cruising/groomers/etc.. But you would also be fine on a 160-161. Or a 156 if you're riding predominately in the park (where a 164 will be a noticeable hindrance).

Ultimately 3cm is not gonna make an enormous difference but there will be a slightly longer learning curve on the longer board because, well, because physics and also the fact that you haven't yet developed a mastery of your snowboarding muscle memory, proper technique, etc. If you can get it in a shorter like 161 I would probably trade in for the smaller size, but if you can't, don't sweat it. |
Ya I still had the receipt I can return it for a smaller size thanks for the advise
