If you have access to ride pow regularly, it makes perfect sense. Pow boards turn riding pow from great (riding pow is fun on most boards) to pure surfing heaven. Pow specific boards allow you to relax and enjoy strain free riding in the best conditions.

Where are you riding in montana. I'm in bozeman mainly riding/hiking bridger. Montana has great freeriding but isn't the pow meca like the nw, tahoe, lcc, jackson... a freeride board with a powder shape is ideal.
