Hi,
I recently found a TRS 2012 151 on sale and was wondering if I could use the board as an all mountain freestyle board that i can easily butter and jib. I'm 5 '9" and 160 lbs and i know that i'd probably need a longer board like a 54 or a 57. But I was looking for softer all mountain boards for jibbing around the entire mountain, and I thought going a bit short on mid flexed boards like TRS might give me the soft but stable boards. My other option right now is a skate banana which i also found is on sale. I'd have to compromise the stability a lot but ive been only able to find skate banana that'll do well/okay in and out of the park. This is my first time in snowboarding forum, so I'm not sure if im providing enough information. but some advice would be greatly appreciated. |

I own a Skate Banana, and it's very fun to play around with in the park but if you ever feel like picking up any kind of speed on a groomer, it's quite unstable. Take a look at the Arbor Westmark, that's what I'm looking at now for a buttery all-mountain board that will dominate the park

People tend to say for most things its 90% rider and 10% board. You'd be able to butter with it, but not as easily as a Skate Banana obviously. If you really want to play around, get the Skate. If you want to keep high speed stability with a playful side to it, take the TRS. That's what I'd do personally

well. while a trs is slightly more stable in high speeds, i've personally never had problems with my skate banana at high speeds. what contributes to that though is that i have a 156w with only 5"10 and roughly 154 lbs.
skate banana= king of the park, including jumps trs= slightly more stable at high speeds, but less flexible |
