and that means .. what exactly?

i think i'll just skip the tuning part for this season as my boards relatively new, and i've heard magne hardly needs tuning or detuning. and tuning seems like a hassle to get right anyway. i don't wanna ruin my edges.

Both! lol... Yeah in the last two seasons I've had 50-60 days on my board, and had it tuned at a shop once.

He's being a douche saying they have so much powder in Utah he doesn't even NEED metal edges...

I wouldn't skip tuning for the year. If you're riding ice or hardpack you'll want to keep your edges in good shape. If you're not comfortable tuning them yourself, at least get a basic tune every 5-10 days on the hill or so. You'll know what I mean when you get the first edge tune one day!

And I agree with the advice above. It just really doesnt matter with the location i live in. When i was riding in Europe I tuned them regularly

So, something I'm mildly curious about. Different snowboards have different edge angles. Do the techs at the shop have a list? Or do they measure the board before doing it? Or are you required to tell them the angle you want when you get it done?

It's a ritual for me. You can't mess it up really. Well maybe the edges.
Plenty of good info from SnowWolf on Youtube. Don't use tip much wax or you'll scrape forever.

If it's a cold crisp day you can leave some on. If it's a powder day brush it hard.

Scrape it a couple times but don't over scrape it, and don't use a texture pad/brush/cork/etc.

Personally I always texture and brush, just part of my ritual I guess. If I'm riding in a lot of corn snow I'll just wax more often.
