Forum Recon
Looking for a good beginner board. I found this board for $150 and that's about all I can afford. Any thoughts on this board would be great.
Thanks for the help. |
Its a solid board - it was one of Future Snowboarding's top 10 boards under $400.
WM sometimes has it for $115. Other boards...Stairmaster or Sierra Crew. I know my local EMS has Gnu CHBs for $150 - both MTX and regular. |

Back on topic, Forum Recon would be a good beginner board. |
Is there any disadvantage to a wider board for a beginner to intermediate? I look to be right on the cuff of needing a wider board. 251 to 257 waist.
|
Depends on your foot size and the angles you set your bindings. General rule is boot size 11 is the max on a non-wide board, but some other members will argue that. I have a size 10 boot on a 252 and it's fine. My 10.5 boots fit fine on the 252 as well.

Ok, I am over thinking this but someone please help me make my decision!!!

I'm not sure if they still have the CHBs, I got my RC MTX a few weeks ago there and it was labeled a CHB...so I got it for 150. Anyways, they had 2 MTX ones and 1 non-mtx one if I remember correctly last time I was there. And I say 156, but 158 will work just as well. |
