Right size for me? - Snowboarding Forum

I have 3 seasons of snowboarding under my belt with 40+ days each season. I believe I'm an advanced-expert snowboarder. I've boarded with a Sims Vice 2009 (So shitty they sell it at sportmart) for all my days. I'm 5'9 and 135 pounds and have ordered the Burton Custom X 160cm. My riding style is freeriding and jumps. Have I made a terrible mistake? Or is this a good length since I'm advanced? THanks for your answers

I think it will be ok for you, but ideally you would go with a 156. If it were me and I wanted a little more speed, I would have gone 158.

160 is kinda overkill for your weight, but it'll definitely give you speed!

don't expect to have fun riling or jibbing though. but you never mentioned any of those anyway, so you you should be fine. would be nice to get some feedback on how you handle your spins with that heavy ass board though!

Please post up your foot size as well. Burton rates the Custom X 160 at 155-195 lbs. It is never a good idea to go outside of a manufacturer's designed weight range. Can you ride it, yes. Will it feel user friendly, no. This board is designed to flex naturally for a significanly heavier rider. You will have to stay on it to get it to flex correctly and even then...

Have you ridden it yet? If not, let's get the rest of your info and set you up perfectly.

I'm a size 9! Yikes! I have a feeling I'm going to get fucked up. I do lots of spins and from your info I'm real fucked. I ordered it so it's shipping right now. I bought it for 425 BRAND NEW 2013!!!!! SO It was a good deal right? Am I real fuckd or no?

The X doesn't stand for Wide, It's just the model. I'm 15 so I'm still gaining weight and height, still fucked or no?

Its hard to give the right advice to someone who is growing. Do you want it to fit now or later? How do we know when that sweet spot is? How much do you expect to grow? Are you gonna be skinny or fill out all thick n shit?
