Younblood Doubledog 155 Wide not wide emough? - Snowboarding Forum

Hello everyone!

thanky to you guys I decided on which board to buy, got the delivery today. Out of curiosity I grabbed my snowboard boots (size 13) and put them on the board. Now I am concerned wheather the board is wide enough. Here are some pictures that should show the situation. The measuring tape is in cm, I approximated the angle, should be about 15°/-15°.

Now I do realize that this board is already a wide board and I won't get a very much wider board than that, is that right?

On the other hand I tried tilting the board (pretending to turn) and I almost had to tilt it very far, even without the bindings on the board.

What do you guys think? Thanks in advance!

It's not ideal but you should be fine. Your bindings will lift the boots up so the overhang will be less than it is now. You can set up your bindings and tilt the board along the edge and you will see at what angle your heel and toe will touch the snow.

Well there isnt really a huge varity of angles I can set the bindings up in, is there? I mean usually I do 15/-15, what else could I do, just a few degree more?

Anybody else's thoughts?

Sorry, I think I didn't explain that well.

I'm not talking about you changing the angles of your bindings. I mean that with your bindings set up on the board and the boots strapped in you can angle the board (like simulating a turn) and see when the heel or toe of your boot will touch the floor. This way you will see at what angle during a turn you will have heel or toe drag.

The angle I have heal or toe drag with already is really high, I'd guess like 75-80°, with binding probably even more. That should be fine, shouldnt it? If I set up the binding I won't be able to return the boards just in case, will I?

With these angles you're definitely gonna be fine. And yes, you can still return a board after setting up bindings on it. It's not like you're gonna break anything.
