Tell me about a burton nug... - Snowboarding Forum

Thinking about a 2nd board for messing around. Don't ever really hit the park but wouldn't mind something little to mess around on if it's going to be another shitty season. My main board is a Heritage 158X, I'm 6'1 200lbs and thinking about a Nug in 150. Tried a search here and couldn't really find anything on it. Any other recommendations? I'd rather stay <$300 for the board.

The nug is awesome. Really does ride like a longer board but is so tiny. Rode deep pow on mine last season and it did fine. Trees are where it shines though. It also turns the smallest terrain feature into something super fun.

I fell into the Nug hype too and so far ive only spent 1 full day on it and i am really impressed with it. The day mainly consisted of groomed runs with some tree pow and it held its own on everything. The first run was really wierd but it was more the fact it was my first time out this season and i was getting mind fucked from the size of this(142 lol and my normal stick is a 151). This board is not for a pro throwing 720's of huge kickers but if you're wanting something super fun to throw around this would be it.

I demo'd one last season, my first time on a rocker board. Tons of fun. Easy to do spins and so on.

Hey just look for last years gear that is how I get new gear all the time. Most companies don't do major upgrades every year. I got a $550 board for under 300! Bindings that were 240 for 130, and boot that were 220 for only 90 bucks!

Picked a 148 up last year as a change up from my 157.5 riders choice. Fun change of pace. I was surprised how well it handled moderate amounts of powder. I felt like it taxed my old legs a bit more, but the skatey feel is rewarding. And of course you can really throw it around.

It does have it's limits. I wouldn't ride it on anything over 8" of new in the PNW. Can't speak for other areas. Had a couple of late spring days where a few " of wet heavy snow Made the nug feel too short. Stuck to the park and groomers on those days and had tons of fun. Not super stable bombing at high speeds. My RC spoiled me at high speeds and I paid the price a few times trying to pull the same shit on the nug.
