Body Weight - Board Size

I know all the snowboard brands use a snowboard size chart in which they refer to a certain reference "body weight".

Does this "body weight" refer to weight with or without the gear?

The gear easily adds a 5-7 lbs extra.

So for example:
board size "x" = 125-150lbs body weight

What if you weigh 155 lbs without gear?

Should you then take board size "x+1" or would board size "x" still be ok?

Thanks for the clarification!

As a general statement, if you're that close to the cutoff you probably should go the next size up.
