burton cheetah with cartel S size bindings?
I am 70kg yet my feet are just size 7.5 and I have a pair of burton invaders.
the boots fit well in the size S cartel bindings. However, the L size cartel ones are recommended for the cheetah board with 257mm waist radius . would an s size binding have a detrimental effect on the performance? went to the shop today, tried both the S and M sized cartels. On the S sized ones the heel overhang and the toe overhang seems to be more or less the same. But the ankle straps were too short and they had to be adjusted to the longest length to surround the ankles. Yet it looked flimsy and may break soon. On the M sized ones the toe overhang would only be around 1cm while the heel overhang is around an inch. If the transparent bubble on the binding fits precisely into the rail which is the middle of the board, then the heel overhang would definitely be larger. So which size should i get? |
Congrats on buying the cheetah.
The small binding wont effect the performance at all. Burtons latest craze is wide waist widths which they call nug raduction, you can just assume you have that "new tech" and ride on like you would have before the burton website made you second guess yourself. Its a powder board not a carving machine so get out there and enjoy it. Im sure it will be a fun board. |

Now you are triple guessing yourself lol. The reason people try to match waist width to boot size is to get maximum leverage while carving. In the powder this is of minimal concern.
Stress less and be happy with the best powder board burton has ever made. Like I have said before, if they made them bigger I would own one in a heartbeat. |
there is no raduction on the cheetah and since it's so stiff, it is fine for carving

Kusanagi, are you located in Germany or Japan?
Yes, small cartels will be fine on the cheetah. and yes, the different boards in the family tree line are for different terrain and styles. The con artist is for Japan powder trees, and the cheetah is for high speed AK lines. The Juice wagon is sort of in between. It's basically a camber alternative to the barracuda |
