Hey guys, im trying to decide between the 152 vs 155 machete 2012. I have shoe size 10 im 5'8 and weigh 140. Thanks.
Also is there any other good mountain boards for -250$. Year doesnt mattee

Im going to assume youre looking to do everything possible on the mountain?

Im 5'11 and weight around 170, I went with a 158 (i used to ride a 155 before), I went with the 158 because everywhere i looked, it said youd want a longer board if youre looking for a lot of downhill riding which is what i prefer over the terrain park. For your size my personal recommendation would be the 152, it's closer to your weight range, according to the board stats for a 152 its 100-150 lbs and for the 155 its 115-165 lbs, it kind of depends on if you plan on putting more weight or not i suppose. Id also say go with the 152 because if you plan on doing any terrain parks it will be better for that, but if youre like me and just enjoy going down the mountain, than id recommend a little bit of a larger one.

if you go to that site, click on "Use the Sizing Chart", and scroll down to the Machete and you can see all of the sizing requirements for certain board sizes.

Also, check your local snowboarding stores for the 2012 Ride Machete, I got mine brand new from a local store for $220, which i think is a killer deal haha.

Im more into crusing in ohio parts, but ill be taking it to tahoe and shredding everything, is 152 gonna work there too?

Honestly, I couldnt tell you, My friend goes to tahoe every year and he rides a 154, he is id say around 5 10 160? but he is more into the terrain park and he is also really good and his board is a burton so they have a different sizing chart.

Ive never been to either of them. Um personally I would go for the longer board, I read in a couple of forum posts that the longer the board, the more stable it is, so this being said if youre trying to ride in deeper snow, or just cruise around the resorts a longer board will be more stable. this is just what I have been informed so make sure you double check what I am saying with other members or even google.

155 unless you're riding it mostly in the park, then 152. But if you want it to cruise as an all-mountain board and be OK in (potentially) deeper stuff out in Tahoe, size with the 55.

It's an awesome board, BTW. Did you have any chance to ride or demo one?

no i have not but i am eager to ride it, i want to do a little park here and there but mostly this board will be for resort riding

I ride a 155 machete and my specs are 5'7" and 158 lbs.

More of an allmountain rider and rarely hit the park. Perfect size for my type of riding
