Appropriate board size
 

Hello ppl, i've been riding for a year and finally decided to buy some equipment. I already got the boots, some 32 prion size 11, and i'll be buying the union force bindings, my only problem being possible toe or heel dragging (although i don't suppose i'll be carving that deep) with the board i'm fancying, that is a bataleon goliath 156 (For some reason i'm not too fond of the wide version). Does anyone have any experience with that particular board? (i'll be probably using the duck stance or something similar). I'm 155 pounds.

I would say you should be fine, that board may be a bit on the stiffer side for you, but then I don't ride bataleon. So...........

the 156 has a 251mm waist width, plenty of room with a 32 size 11.

Should be fine, especially if you duck out/don't use the closest insert holes.

It's always hard to say for sure as the waist width isn't where your bindings will be. Depending on the sidecut, you may have less or more room for your boots from board to board.

On average though a board with at least a 250mm waist will be ok with your boot size, albeit with some overhang depending on your setup.

tough to say given your boot size and your weight,

for your weight i generally recommend 151-156 depending on riding style to people that come in the shop

that being said a 156 goliath might be a bit too stiff for your weight, maybe check out the airobic (i have ridden both and prefer this one anyways) and probably in a wide. but up to you and the feel you like

Isn't the Airobic a much softer, park-specific board?

I don't have experience with Bataleon boards, but I remember reading opinions on the board here that it's rather noodley.

Yes it's much softer and I recommended that because you are wanting/needing a longer board for your weight, therefore to counter balance that I'd recommend a softer board

Yeah i've heard the width at the inserts is far more important but i couldn't find it... only average it out....

I know... i have far too big feet considering my weight :( i'll check that one out too although i love that goliath... if only the whatever came with a sintruded base! Thanks for your help!
