Rome Mod Rocker vs Ride Machete
Usually don't ask board questions, but can't decide between the two.
Looking for something more playful than my Rome Anthem but not too much so. Not really looking to do rails, more jumps and all mountain freestyle off natural features, dip into the trees when I can, but possibly still run a nice high speed carve at the end of the run. They seem close in camber profile and intent to ride, but I see much differing views. Opinions? |
from the info ive learned on these boards...the machete is gna be softer, the mod rocker is a kill it all board, awsome for big jumps..not a noodle though. id say machete is softer forsure..not sure how the rome anthem is for flex or not, only romes ive been on is agent rocker and artifact.. id say if u still what something playful to butter but can stomp jumps and speed runs also go machete

I don't have experience from either board but my two cents is that the Ride Machete is a VERY good board. Not sure it will be very playful though. I almost bought myself a Mod Rocker last year and all the research I read on it seemed really positive. I was about to buy it, but was a little late on the great deal going on so I picked out the much cheaper K2 Parkstar instead, which I love!

K2 Jibsaw I have been looking at as well. Kind of hooked on the flat with rockered tips, seems like a profile I would like, just looking for which one. |

that sounds right. It looks like the Jibsaw is 40% rocker and 60% camber. supposed to be fairly stiff in the nose and tail and loose in the middle. Probably wouldn't want to use to too much on jibs, so it could fit your uses pretty well too.

I have a machete, and I can definitely bomb runs while being in full control and holding an edge on tight fast corners. In terms of flexibility I'd definitely rate it at least a 7 out of 10 in stiffness. And that lowrize profile will give that playfulness feel to the board. Looks just what you are looking for.
