What size burton barracuda? Help!
I'm considering buying a Burton Barracuda snowboard but don't know what size to get. I'm between 6 foot and 6 foot 1 inch and weigh 190-195 pounds. I currently ride a Burton Custom X that's about 5 years old and that might be a little small for my height and weight.

I'm using the board for more of a powder board so instantly I thought to go with the 161. But I will be using the board for a lot of powder tree runs and want maneuverability. I know the barracuda has the new nug reduction as well so that pushing me to the 157.

What does everyone recommend? 157 or 161?

either one you will be fine, but i would go with a 161

i have a ns heritage 161, 6' 180 lbs and handled it fine, u bein 15pounds heavier i can only see better performance on the 161

Get the 161 for sure. Because of the rocker, this board will be super nimble in the trees. I have ridden this board

FWIW, I'm 6' 0", 200lbs. and I ride both a 162W CX and have a 165 Barracuda. I went up in size because I wanted an unsinkable pow deck regardless of the "Raduction" recommendation that Burton makes. IMO, while the rocker nose helps keep you up on top, float in pow is also determined by the surface area of the base. The size up also added a little extra waist width which I wanted because I wear a size 12 boot.

The most riding I've done on it was during a week in Revelstoke B.C. last Feb - March where we had 40+cm one day and 28cm or so the next. Not only did it power through thigh-deep blower, but the short camber section between the binding kept it nimble enough that I had no maneuverability problems in the glades. The longer nose does add a little swing weight, but nothing I had an issue with.

Thanks for all the input. I'm surprised no one is saying to go with the 157 because of the big reduction. I actually called burton and they told me to get the 157 based on my height and weight alone. Has anyone tried the 157 that's about my size and weight?

If so, did it keep you up in powder with minimal effort? Or would have like to have a bigger board?

Thanks again for everyone that responded.
