Heading to Utah: Currently ride a Lib Tech TRS 154. Ok for powder?

I am 5'7" 180 pounds. Love this board for the east coast but don't want to be under gunned if we can some good snow on this trip. Considering a Jones Flagship and going a little longer.

Any other boards to suggest that would be good for east coast ice and also powder on the occasional trip?

idk abt utah, but in pnw it would be lacking.

It is a little small, yes. I would not buy a board just to ride out here a couple times though. We could be in a dry spell and a bigger board would not be as good of a choice. It all depends on the conditions.

I'd say just make the trip, if you get out there and it's dumping rent a pow board.

my 157 trice floated fine in deep pow last time i was in UT. but i have no doubt i would've had more fun on the Flagship. that board is made to float easy.

I'm same height and weight My Rice 153 was fine in Utah but we didnt get a lot of snow. We had maybe a foot tops and it was great. You might want to consider just demoing some longer boards if it dumps because you might struggle if it gets DEEP.

Which TRS? There is the older camber one that I have. The BTX TRS that is just center rockered and the C2BTX TRS that has camber on the outside. The camber one I would be looking for a different board. The BTX one I would say you will be fine. The C2BTX one I would say your fine but try some set back on the bindings.

I purchased this board 2-3 years ago. It says "TRS Banana Technology Magne Traction" on it. The design on the black top sheet has legs, the space shuttle and an eye on it amongst other things. Not sure if that helps you or not.

I'm 180# and 155 is my groomer and can handle up to about 8", 158/9 is for about 8-16" and 164 is for 14"+. Rent a pow board if the conditions call for it. If your board is a banana profile, it will work for a bit deeper but it will also tend to fold up instead of planing in the deep when you need to be on the nose or tail....at least what my 159 skate banana would do so got rid of it.

180 pounds & 154cm. I'd want more length in Utah.
