Jones Hovercracked
 

day 3 riding my new Hovercraft and this happened... I must have hit a rock/tree/something and it pulled the metal edge out from the back of the board... at first I thought I'd just epoxy this back together and clamp it, but now somewhere between unloading it from the car and sticking it in the closet, I made it a little worse (put a slight kink in the metal), so I'm not sure if I should still attempt a self-fix

My question is do you think this is a manufacturing issue?... It popped out pretty easy, no giant gouge or scrape, whatever I hit was pretty minor. Looking at it I really don't see any glue residue or anything that was keeping that edge in place to begin with... seems odd, but I'm no expert when it comes to how these are put together in the first place.


At the very least I thought you guys might be interested in seeing the damage.

yes that is a manufacturing defect. looks like an easy fix tho.. if you don't have enough clamps or the confidence it will look good then just take it to a shop...

yes. they should replace that ASAP. if you bought it from us i'd give you a new one on the spot.

That looks like a manufacturing defect from that picture, obviously better photos would help. More than likely since metal doesn't like to bond too well with plastic/wood of the snowboard there isn't enough dampening foil there.
