Looking to pick up a board for a riding friend, Vinyl Rocker, woman's board. She weighs about 120. Was thinking the 148 originally, but the sizing chart seems to want to put her in the mid range of the 151.
Is it just me or is this sizing chart a bit on the heavy side? Really thought 148 would be more ideal. Opinions? Edit: The sizing chart on the 148 puts her right at the heavy end of the spectrum at 120. Edit2: Really just for freeride, no park. Last edited by Efilnikufesin; 12-19-2012 at 09:19 PM. |

The Rome women's size chart is definitely a bit weird in my opinion - I'm about 115-120lbs, and for the Rome Gold the size chart had me in the 150s as well. I ended up going with the 147, the upper weight range was 120 lbs, but 147 -> 151/152 is a big jump. Mine is also for freeriding only. I decided the 147 was maybe better for the glades, and my old board was a 147 and seemed to be a good fit. I also contacted the company and both people I talked to recommended the 147 for my weight, and said the size chart was just a guideline ... so maybe longer if she's in powder a lot, otherwise 148 is more in line with general/other companies' size recommendations I think. Does she have a preference (or is it supposed to be a surprise)?

I would consider flex into the decision. I'm also at her weight and ride a 146 (stiffer) board. Not a Rome though. Sure I could manage a 150-151 (my first board was a stiff, heavy 151) but I wanted something shorter this time around. If it were me, I'd opt for the 148.
Also, can't you size down a bit with rocker tech? |

Thanks all for the input, that Rome sizing chart does seem wonky for women. |
