Never been a big fan of Burton products (Usually ride NS'), but last year, I picked up a Whammy Bar for a good price from Dick's Sporting Goods. I figured what the heck it'll be a fun deck to play around on when I take the kids riding.
I took it out to our local hill here in Indiana and have to say I was surprised at how well I liked it. This has the V rocker and I believe a factory beveled edge, making it very fun and catch free when buttering and playing around. A few times after doing a 180 off a small kicker, by accident, I continued to rotate around and finished another 180 on the ground...no edge catch. I was also surprised about how stable it felt at moderate speed as well as its edge hold, despite how soft it is. Decent pop for ollying and a pretty cool graphic (I have the stack of records graphic). A couple strategically placed stickers and your good to go... The snow was pretty soft and melting today, but surprisingly, the board made it back to the lift line every time w/out leaving me stranded in the flats. I bought this one shorter than what I normally ride. I'm 210 lbs, but it seemed to work fine. Happy Holidays, Krug |
