Well I can't give you any specific boards or sizes because I don't know your price range or body specs.

What I can tell you is that you should stick with any board that has a rocker shape to it. This will make things easier because rocker type boards are more forgiving and easier to maneuver.

You might also want to check out some used boards if possible in order to save money and see if you actually enjoy snowboarding!

Hope this helped!

well here are my specs
height:5 foot,1 inch
weight:110 pounds
age:12
foot size:10
pant size:30
shirt size:small
Well, I'm about the exact same as you. I just turned 13 about 2 months ago I am 5 feet even, like 100 pounds, and my size is a 8.5! Not sure about my pant size though:dunno:

Anyways my setup is a Burton Hero 138 with Burton Freestyle bindings and ThirtyTwo men's Exus size 8.5. The Burton Hero is on sale at Zumiez.com too!

The board I LOVE and the bindings are good! Here are links ^ the orange color matches the board and they're medium, which will fit your feet. Actually I'd be jelous, I have the black ones ;)

I started on a rocker and I believe that he would have more fun on a rocker considering he has never gone before. No need to strap him up to a camber board and have him hate his first experience.
Just my two sense...

Either way, There are many boards out there for your price range. you could even probably find a good package deal!
I'd just go to your local board shop and look around with your dad and ask whoever works there what they think your proper size would be. It's basically all preference, but since your beginning I'd ask them what they think a good size for you would be and this would most likely be a good place to start.

Good luck!

151 for someone whos' 5'1
That sounds like something you'd have to grow into.
You're probably going to hit a growth spurt really soon So i wouldnt buy anything super expensive unless you or your dad is good at selling things on craigslist.
Craigslist is your friend for something like this.
