How important are board graphics to you?

This may sound pretty dumb, but I'm in love with the Ladies Choice...I just think it's the ugliest fucking thing!

I know it shouldn't bother me, but I can't seem to bring myself to buy it because I hate it so much. It's to the point where I might just wait another season to drop five bills on a new board.

So my question to all of you is, how important are board graphics to you? Do they significantly influence your decision?

Have you seen the board in person and on the snow? They often look a lot better than in pictures.

Or you could over it in stickers..

It's great if you are totally stoked on the style of your board but remember you won't be thinking about what the board looks like while having fun slashing pow..

To answer your question. My board has pretty dull graphics and I certainly like others a lot better. I bought it anyway because it was the right board. I don't hate the design though, it's 'alright'.

If you really cant stand that design, then I'm sure you can find a very close alternative from a different manufacturer.

It looks better in pictures than it does in person, hahah.

I've been looking for something similar but I really want to try the asymmetrical heel/toe edge thing that Mervin put out this year, so I'm fairly limited.

And on stickers: I'm feeling like the board design is too busy to cover in stickers...would just make it worse. Eh, I might just deal with it. :dunno:

I think that's hilarious... A few seasons ago I wanted a Capita Space Metal Fantasy, but the graphics on that were so hideous I couldn't do it either. I won't buy a board just because the graphics are cool, but if it is ugly enough I also won't buy the board. I would not have been able to stand getting on that Capita every day.

i dont really care either way, id rather have the right board for me regardless of the graphics..that being said, theres probably something similar to the ladies choice from another company with different graphics. i think it looks pretty cool actually imho

I like those graphics, kinda reminds me of a Trapper keeper. Some companies are pretty freaking boring with their graphics. The last 2 boards I bought were colorful Roxy boards. The colorful boards do show up nice in pictures. I bought my boards based on the brand and type of board as opposed to how they look.

If a board was really ugly I might not buy it. I had an ugly Nitro TI, but I would not pay no 500 dollars for it. I never pay even close to that. Previous seasons boards are good enough for me.

LOOOL! @ the op: Yeah I think the look of a board is important to the person buying it. I want to get a smokin superpark but I think the graphic is hideous. There's a white booger flying out of this dudes nose that is just putting me off so bad. I like the board though so I'll probably buy it.

I actually hate most board graphics. They're usually either way over the top, colorwise, or look like a child or someone wasted drew them. So it comes down to if it's just too damn ugly or ridiculous to be seen with. (btw, I'd didn't think the ladies choice was that bad. If I was a girl, and loved the specs, I'd probably ride it. Seen much worse)

Not at all important for me. When I ride, I never look at my board and stare at the top sheet, so top sheet graphics doesn't matter at all. I bought my board based on performance, not on top sheet design.

About the only time anyone can see the graphics on my board is when I'm at the lodge and the board is on the racks, so what goes on outside the lodge isn't really my concern, nor should it be. What do I care for how a 13 year old thinks of my board when I'm chowing down a pizza?

I don't think I would pass up the perfect board because of graphics. If it were that bad I would just do my own paint job.

Over the years there has been a board or two I have pondered cause they were right size, flex, price...but had to pass on due to graphic.

Here are a couple that i could not ride...but if anyone else can, go for it. Guess i am too old...

Those made me lol. I would have rode them at one time in my life hoping to offend uptight folks, but now I wouldent...well maybe if it wasent my daily ride.

I feel you there. That is an ugly board. As for the pickle being too soft for you to ride, I would check up on some of the videos that have been posted of pro's riding that board and the GNU - B-Nice for that matter. The softer boards seemed to be holding up quite nicely to those who like a little stiffer board. It's why I went with the B-Nice is the first place, soft enough to play on but I don't lose a whole lot of functionality.

Btw, I wasn't a big fan of the B-Nice graphics to begin with but when I got my boots and bindings, it all kind of fell into place to make one kick ass set up. Hope you can find something. I am huge fan of GNU also.

like jello24 said, most people pay very little attention to others board graphics. I'm too busy doing other things on mtn (riding, eating) instead of board graphic sightseeing/criticism....and, unless boards are on the rack or you're looking up at the chairlift (or someone is sitting around on the top of the mtn trying to display their board), graphics aren't really as much on display as you think. On the other hand, an ugly jacket...

Those special ed lobster boards are pretty gross, but I'd ride one (if it was given to me) because the drawings are actually well done and I know hardly anyone is going to ever see it, anyhow
