New snowboard

I'm about 5"5 - 5"6 and I weigh about 130 pounds.

So my stepdad got me a new snowboard but it is 156 cm.
All the websites I checked recommended a 154 cm board.

Will the 2 cms make a huge difference?

no..................

Im 5'7 and 135lb. My first board was a 151 based on internet calculator and the fact it was the size of the $70 craigslist board I happened to find. Now I ride 149cm. Big boards are clumsy, no?

If it's your first board, it doesn't really matter. If you plan on keeping it for a long time (ie. no money to upgrade), I think you should go smaller.

The board is just a little bit taller than my base of my nose.
Idk, I'm still a beginner/intermediate and dont want it to affect anything.

p.s its a gnu carbon series btx

It's at the higher end of your range but you can ride it.How experienced are you?

I'm a little heavier than you but like 150-153.

Take advantage of some New Year's Eve party to gain 10 lbs and fatten yourself up.

Honestly, 2cm doesn't matter to a beginner. The extra length just adds a tinge more stability to your ride. Use that stability to bomb past speed control and show em who's boss.

You may want to shorten up if you plan on doing park, but your stepdad should just get you a new board at that stage of your progression.

Yeah I only plan to ride steep slopes, not any park stuff

Your stepdad should have bought you a stepchild.
If your going to ride steeps and I assume fresh pow the extra 2cm will be perfect.
