Lobster Freestyle.

A little follow up to my first day riding my lobster, also first time on TBT. I will get the graphics out of the way. Yes, they suck. So what? Anyways, my first time riding Lobster, begin.

There were 3 main points i noticed right away.

Speed: Step on it and im like " WHOAHHH", this thing is fucking fast. A little more riding reveals that this thing is really fast, actually so fast i had a hard time controlling it. Makes every flat spot on sunshine seem like a blue run's. The wax absorption is good, at least for me. I did wax it as soon as i got it and then right before the trip. Soooo, yeah. TBT is fast as fuck. Moving on....

Edge: First run was a black run and never been rode the TBT, its was sketchy to say the least. Non the less, the edge was there on run down ice patches and edge to edge was amazing. So smooth and so fast. Carving blacks became fun again. I think the camber and stiffness helped with that alot. So, there is edge grip on TBT unlike some people say. Took 3 turns to familiarizes myself with it and then it was on to the races. Super fun.....

TBT: I have to say that majority of things TBT does for you, listed on Bataleon website, is true. Turn initiation is easy, hard to catch an edge, though not impossible :p, spins on jumps are easier and loads more. One in particular was how it felt on pow. Damn, is all i have to say. Actually, holy shit. Feels like when you step on a boat on water. Unlike anything i have ever rode before. Feels weird but confident at the same time. Kinda like surfing but softer and more fluid. Hard to explain, anyways. I need to take it to deep stuff, then im going to cry. So good.

Overall, im super stoked on it. I love it. Snowboarding is fun again without having to push myself. Love cruising on it and id love to take it on a long run with beautiful scenery. TBT won my heart, and next year im planning on the camel toe. have a good night.

Glad you like it. Good job on the review. Now go to work so you can afford a Camel Toe this year.

yeah, TBT should come with a warning. When my boards were new, there were a couple times when TBT accelerated on me kind out of the blue and scared the shit out of me...but I'd rather that than the opposite. Love it on traverses and mogul-y type areas, too, because the edges don't get stuck in the transitions.

Little update. Rode it again. This board is heavy. Feels like you have to drag it. I also don't like the way it sits on jump's when setting up. Edge hold sucks and i slipped on icy scratching my face... Bottom line? TBT for pow, non-tbt for all mtn freestyle. What am i doing now? trying to sell my billy goat and my lobster, then buying a hovercraft and Proto.

goat is getting replace with something more pow specific

Lobster is getting replace with something better.

I definitively did not think about my purchases this year. Now im getting something proven.

And if i cant sell them.... Ill keep em. they are still sick boards.

Thats funny. I was just checking Kijiji and thought "could this be the work of Blunt?"

In my humble opinion, I would blow out both boards fairly cheap to cover the cost of 1 Proto and perhaps some IPOs to go along with them. Forget the Hovercraft as Sunshine doesn't get enuff powder. The Proto seems to have your name all over it. You only need 1 good board. Everybody on here likes the Proto.

I would seriously consider the Yes Greats board as well. BA cannot say enuff about it, and you wouldn't need another stick.

You're boards are priced way too high... 450.00 for a Lobster? they're like 430.00 brand new... that board is now worth maybe 300.00 if you find a sucker on Kijiji. Anything used is going to depreciate by 50% as soon as you walk out of the shop with it.

Arsenal is right, blow them out cheap, suck up your loss and buy a Proto... then post a review about how it edges so well and how much you love it, then wait a few days and post again about how it can't hold an edge and how you're selling it cause you don't like it.:dizzy:

ARSENALFAN 01-13-2013 03:20 PM

If you don't blow them out and take a quick loss (just wait until you start trading stocks on the market) you will quickly learn that by the end of January nobody wants your boards and you will spend the rest of the limited season wishing you had taken the advice. Your going to have to take a hit.
At least it is not $50,000.00 in Research In Motion stock.

Eh, i figured that i dont like TBT, wait who called it out? Dont get me wrong, its insane for pow but sunshine doesn't get that much anyways. If i can find a person that would pay 400 for the board im only like 150 away from proto. that's not too bad... Im just looking at something light, good pop and edge hold. The billy is such a work out even for me at 162 and the 157 lobster doesn't feel right on groomers. Ill stick to flat boards from now on. But if i keep the billy i can use it for pow as its bigger and stiffer. I was debating about me turning the goat into a swallow tail. that would rock.

Yeah, i read one review or comparison about the proto vs evil twin and i found everything to be true about the et. Stiff, heavy and not damp at all. Edge hold is mediocre at best and the TBT is only good for pow. If i cant sell any boards ill lover the price. I do have two bindings i totally love...

The idea is to get riding a board you like asap and before the season ends. So sell them really quick and buy that Proto. You won't even think about the loss in a few weeks. Trust me. Been there. One thing to consider......does Royal Board Shop even have a Proto in the size you want? If your planning on riding next weekend, you will want to call them and have it ordered. I was looking at a Cobra there and they didn't have my size in stock.

You hated the attack banana and you love the yes pyl? im assuming.... The idea here is to try and only sell the lobster because i still very much like my goat. But the lobster is just as stiff and harder to ride. ergo, im trying to get a proto in 160? or 158?

Idea: Keep the goat first because its a good board second, my dad loved the graphics and thats the first board he liked, which means a ton for me and last because i can use it when it gets deep. Also sell the lobster and buy a proto. i have 2 bindings i love to death and im keeping those.

All over the place, i know.
