Binding position OK or am I risking heel- and toe-bites?

Is the binding too large for my new board? Am I risking heel- and toe-drag?

Hello,

what would you say, is the binding too large for this board? My previous board had a larger waist width than this one and now I don't feel so good about it because the heel and the toes are hanging over the front- and backside and I don't want to risk heel- and toe-drag.

Rotation is -15° and I only mounted one binding yet, the other one will be +15°. It is positioned to the side as much to the frontside as possible, already.

Binding is a Cartel L and the Boots are Salomon Maori in 42 / US 9. The board is a non-wide GNU RIder's Coice.

Always hard to tell from pics, but size 9 boots should be just fine on a non-wide RC.

There isn't much else your binding position can do to reduce the overhang unless you started using some pretty extreme angles. As long as your boot is centered on the board it should be fine.

Somethings not right. For starters you should be in a medium binding with a sz 9 boot and in the 3rd pic (iirc) there's about an inch, inch and a half gap between the back of your boot and the heel cup. I'd start by making the binding as small as possible and going from there.

ahhh....good eye. I wasn't really looking at the binding too much, just the boots. Size 9 boots should have no problem with his board, but the L bindings might be too large for his boots.

Large is to big. If his heel was all the way back in the cup there would be no overhang at the toes and he could move the binding closer to his toe edge. The gas pedal also needs to be on the smallest setting and even then may be to far forward to provide any leverage. Toe straps also look about maxed out on the smallest setting

Do you have have a friend that knows gear that can help you with your bindings? If it's not to late I'd exchange them for a medium. If you've already used them I would talk to the shop and see if they are willing to work with you especiaaly if their employee put you in a large binding.

Thanks. I think about getting one of these bindings then:

1.) a new Rome 390 Boss in S/M
2.) a new Union Atlas in M/L
3.) a used Burton Diode 11/12 in M
or 4.) a used Cartel 2011 in M

which one should I prefer for my riding style (see above)? Or do you have any other recommendations?

I'll sell my old binding then.

To me that looks like you've got some major overhang of the heel. you should lay the board flat on the ground, wood floor, carpet, whatever, and tilt it to ur heel side and ur toe side, this will let u know if there will be any dragging occuring ;)
im no pro or anything, but you should get a binding that matches the stiffness of your board for more control :)
