Board Length Advice
Hey I am around 115lbs and 5'6. I recently picked up a Gnu Metal Guru 152cm and slapped on a pair of Endeavor S2s (M). My boot size is 8 and have around six years of snowboard experience. On a couple of websites it says that the recommended rider weight should be 130-210lbs. I mainly do park/ freestyle and groomed runs. Normally I ride a Ride Catalyst 149cm but picked up the Guru at a good price. Do you think due to the lack of weight I will have difficulty controlling the board ? It seems like it is harder to switch onto my toeside but that could just be my first day with the board. I am currently riding 15 on the front and negative 6 at the back on a regular stance.
Thanks in advance and any comments would be appreciated.
That is a pretty long board for your weight, but only you can tell yourself if it's not right for you. If you've had it on the snow already there's no harm in taking it out for another few days to try to get used to it. It won't depreciate any more than it already has...
FWIW, I started on a 153 when I was about 5'6" and 120 pounds but I was growing fatter at the time... :giggle:
How did you find the Guru mate? I just picked one up.
