Extra wide stance and T-bolting for freestyle
Hey guys just wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences to mine.

Height: 5' 10"
Weight: 150 lbs
Board: Rome Reverb Rocker 154
Bindings: Burton Cartels
Boots: Salomon Dialogue
Stance Angles: +18/-15
Stance Width: 24 1/4in maxed
I ride a split of park and all mountain freestyle.

So for the most part I love my reverb rocker it has great flex and pop and fits my riding style great. However, something that has always bugged me a little about it is even maxed out I feel like I wish I could widen my stance just a little. I also have an artifact 153 that maxes out at 25 1/4 and I def liked it more. I feel like i'm really starting to dial in my riding and think a bit wider will be my zen stance. I've got back and front 3s with Indys on lock along with methods and just now getting heavy into landing blind putting down 5s and switching up my grabs learning more tail and nose stuff. I feel like a wider stance will help my spin initiation and one footed stability while buttering transitioning ect. as well as reach my grabs better.

Even as I write this I'm putting serious consideration into running over to my local shop and getting some t-bolts put on the outside of both sets of inserts on my board to achieve the feel I want. Does anyone have experience with getting T-bolts and or working out ways to widen their stance?

Anything is appreciated! Thanks for reading!

Hello, I'm in a similar situation to you at the moment.
I ride a Forum rat as well as my rome artifact, with the rat (153) I can run up to 26 and a half" stance :)

For me that seems pretty wide. I ride 22 3/4" stance width on both my 150cm Evo and 154cm Proto with a similar height and weight as you. The one difference is I ride +18/-18, anything less and I get mild knee pain. 25"+ seems quite excessive to me.

grab some union disc and line up the channels parallel with the board and shift them to the outside.

this will give you the extra width without messing with the holes.

I should also add I run union force.

I have put T nuts in to get extra setback before, its no big deal.

I felt the same way with my old burton floater but I picked up a new never summer revolver this year and set it up for the widest stance possible and it feels way wider than what I'm used to and way better. I would recommend t-bolts, union discs, or any way to widen your stance if you feel like you need to be a little wider.

True! I widened my stance last week to 24 inches to see if I could get away with it for more stable landings, turns out I cant:giggle: It felt more awkward carving and I hurt my front knee after only a few days with this stance. Soon enough when I can ride again my stance will go back to 23.4 inches(I'm 6 ft 1). It was interesting how that half inch or so seemed to make a huge difference for me.

Seriously how the fuck do you ride? Watched some twat waffle try to ride with a 26 inch stance today he looked like a cowboy trying to take a shit and could hardly turn.
