I would just have gone with the "deliver it to the local snowboard shop technique", who usally knows what to do. Either they can do it for a small fee, or can give you some "to-do", and not "to-do".
I think you'd be better off just leaving it alone, start messing with it and your ptex/topsheet will separate. It's going to hurt anything, if you have any expose fiberglass gore, maybe squirt a little super glue on it.

Sucks though, good luck with the fix. I'd look at cutting out the punched in section of edge, flatten then fill with epoxy.
I vote for leaving that alone. If you try to press it out it will cause cracking to happen sooner rather than later.
Start shopping for your next board and keep the dented one for the park.
