Default Burton's capstrap - are they really comfy or just a gimmick??

Are Burton's signature capstrap really all that comfy or is it abit of a gimmick? Ive had my Ride EX's for a few yrs now & each season the toe strap can tend to cut off circulation to my toes after half a day of riding.

Im now comparing the Burton CO6's, Ride SPi's & Rome 390's. Alot of u guys here r Rome fans. Has anyone tried the CO6's & can give a thorough review?

in terms of capstraps they all work about the same. i dont think one is more comfy over the other. sounds like you might be wrenching down way to hard on em. they are supposed to be more comfortable and less circulation restricting than tradtional toe straps.

I think they all pretty much work the same. I've seen guys easily interchange the parts between various binding manufacturers. Mainly just to save money.

I like my Burton Triads after years of using Flows. Definitely more ankle flexion with the straps.

I've seen more guys in the locker room going towards Union bindings. The plates/heel cup are a little stiffer and more durable.

Thx for the replies guys, sounds like i shouldnt lean towards the Burton becoz of the capstraps then. So can anyone give me a comparison on the above bindings - Burton CO6's, Ride SPi's & Rome Targa?

I have been more of a all mountain freerider but would like to get into the freestyle & park a lil, so maybe a 50/50 eventually?

i recommend the union forces from seirrasnowboards.com, only $99 at the moment and a good durable binding, might pick one up myself.

Ok the 2 bindings on the top of my list now are the Targas & K2 Formulas, preferably 06-07 model. If for aesthetics alone the Formulas would be my choice, finding a 06-07 model tho could pose a problem. Which would u choose & why?

Im not convinced about the Unions just yet, havent read enuf good things about them, not saying they r bad tho...

After speding the afternoon on the forum, im not throwing in the Salomon Relay Pro/XLT's as well. So its now the Targa's, K2 Formula's(06-07) or Relay Pro/XLT's. Help me make a decision guys...

Snowboarders SoCal

Nope capstraps just look a little better in my opinion. They occasionally slip off when I carve intensely. What I mean by slip off is the binding does not come loose it is just not completley covering the toe part of my boot.
