I've been riding a GNU Altered Genetics MTX 156 for the last 5 years or so but am enticed by all of the reverse camber options out there right now. I primarily free ride, with next to no park, but I do love buttering, ground tricks, jumping natural features, etc. I love riding switch and probably do so 40-50% of my day. For this reason, I'm thinking my next board should be a true twin, freeride oriented with enough flex to dabble in freestyle. I really like the new Lib Tech TRS (with the "stealth" design). Do you think this would be an appropriate board for me vs. other Mervin options (Dark Series, Riders Choice, Eco Genetics, T. Rice Horsepower)?
Regarding sizing, I tried finding Lib Tech's email but all I could find is a form to email them from via their website. I asked a similar question there along with a question on sizing but haven't heard back. Does anyone have their email? As far as sizing, perhaps I could ask that here as well. I'm just under 5'7" but carry a bit of muscle and weigh 175. Should I go for the 154 or the 157 or something else? |

I just ordered a trs and our styles seem right on par. I ordered the 154 coming from a 159 burton supermodel. I feel like the reverse camber profile will be far more effective and efficient on a shorter board. I believe their rule if thumb is you can subtract 3 cm no problem. I generally prefer a bigger board as I'm big into freestyle carving, loads of switch also. I'm 5'9 150.
If you are looking to do big rotations, trees and butters( 360+) you'll prob benefit from the shorter end. If your more into beast carve mode and free ride, I'd go bigger. Note, 154 is middle ground for you. So it's still not that short. |

I'm also in New England and don't usually have to much trouble on ice so I'm really looking forward to the mtx and banana tech helping my push my riding. |

Dark Series/Eco Genectics might not be playful and buttery enough for you. You can email Lib/GNU at shop@mervin.com Probably going to be Debbee who will respond to you - take anything she says with the same pinch of salt as NS customer service, etc. (they are all enthusiastic and pretty responsive, but not very clued in). |
