Beginner's Help

Hi Guys

This will be my second time going to the snow this year, loved it so much that I have decided to invest in my own set of gear.

I went out today and purchased Burton Boxer Snowboard Boots size 11.5. I was told in the store that I should not use a wide board because I have such narrow feet - hence why I bought these boots.

I'm looking at getting the Ride Decade Snowboard (160cm) and the bindings and other stuff that goes with it. Could anyone please give me some advice on whether or not this board is suitable for a very basic snowboarder, who spent most of last season on his ass.

I'm 23 years old, 6'2" height and 143 pounds (65kg) - any advice for me when choosing gear especially the snowboard?

Cheers everyone.

Ben

Decade 163 is FAR too long for someone your weight. Look at something between 151 and 155ish. And what's the "bindings and other stuff" that goes with it?

Thanks for the fantastic help everyone.

I've decided after a lot of research last night to go with the Rome Manual board, with Raiden blackhawk bindings. So thanks for that tip Snowolf.

I'll report in on how it all goes the minute we hit the slopes.

When I purchased the Burton Boxer boots, the dude in the store told me that I was a size 11.5 - but then he showed me another boot and compared it to a 9.5 - showing that both had the same footprint.

I have purchased the Raiden Blackhawk bindings in size L 10.5-14 - will this be a correct fir for my boots, considering they are not a true 11.5 in reality?

Hope that makes sense.
