I've been looking at buying a new board for a while and there seems to be a fair bit of knowledge and experience floating around these forums, so I thought I'd register and run it past you guys. I'm 19, 5'10", about 140 lb, and have spent a week snowboarding each year for about 5 years. I'm pretty competent on general freeriding, and looking to get into the freestyle a bit more. Up to this point I've only ridden hire crap.
So after looking around I initially settled on the idea of a Rome Agent or Solution with 390's. The unfortunate thing is that I live in Sydney. No doubt other snowboarders in Oz will be familiar with the ridiculous retail prices here. So I'm now looking at a Burton Custom 154 and some cartels, which I can get from ebay stores for a more reasonable price ($500 AU rather than $800 for a Custom). The main thing I'm concerned about is that the 154 will be too long for my weight, and that I won't be able flex the thing for butters/nose rolls and general riding. Any opinions/suggestions you guys have would be great, Cheers. |

actually 154 might be a little to short, I am in your same range of stats and I have a 154. If you plan to do park then 154 is good, but if you want more on the free ride part you should go a little longer 155-156
.I have a rome Agent with 390's and I love it, it's a shame that boards are so $$$ over there. Well good luck with your search. |
