So I must admit I made the mistake and waited till I was 33 to start this wonderful sport. I have been up 8 times to Keystone and A-Basin so far and went from taking 3 hours to go down Schoolmarm my first time out to trying every single blue I can get my board on. I feel very comfortable riding right now and only fall when I start to try jumps and hard carves through trees.
This brings me to my question.. I am currently running a 2011 K2 WWW with K2 Company bindings riding goofy at +15/-9. I am 170lbs with a 8 1/2 sized boot. I bought this board really based on it's looks and have come to find out that it just does not have the responsiveness I want on groomers. This seems like more of a park board than anything, I don't have much control in tight spaces and I would like a board that really bites in and responds at the drop of a dime. To those of you that have been riding for a while and have had a chance to try out the 12 and 13's what would you suggest for mostly groomers and going off into some trees? I have been looking at the Lib Tech Hot Knife and the Gnu Billy Goat. Last edited by CrashDummy; 02-06-2013 at 07:04 PM. |

The K2 WWW is in fact a soft park board. Not what you want.
Both the Hot Knife or Billy Goat would fit you. I'll also go fanboy and suggest you look at NeverSummer. The Heritage or Cobra would fit your style. I'd look in the 156-158 range. Bindings you could probably keep, but I don't know much about K2 bindings |
