Buying First Board

Hey all,

First post! Ok so I've been snowboarding only once and although I fell many times...I loved it! So I've decided that this season I want to purchase my own board. After looking at deals on sierrasnowboard.com at half off on '08 boards, Im definitely ready to take the plunge.

Im 5'9 (175cm), weigh 160 lbs, shoe size 10.

My first rental was an older Burton 148, and although it was easy to maneuver, it was pretty heavy, especially compared to my friends 158 Burton Custom X. Now I lookd at a few sizing charts and discovered that my own weight was a more important factor than my height when choosing a board. Well the charts said that a 148 is for people between 90 and 120 pounds!

So obviously I need a larger board. Im thinking between 156 and 158.
I need some advice on purchasing a board. I want a nice all-mountain board. I was looking at the Burton Custom. Is that too advanced for a first board?? Pros, cons? I rode my friends Custom X for a little bit, so how does that compare? Also any other advice is appreciated, and any other board suggestions.
-sorry for the long post!
