Arrow white room turns

I'm close to your size and I've been to Valdez 4 times. My advice is to buy the longest board they sell from whichever brand you choose. 166, 168, etc.

A 161 is kinda a freestyle board for me. I just got back from cat boarding in CO and I took a 161 Arbor Nightrain. I also ride a Rome Anthem 166, and an Igneous 168 Supermodel remake.

The "AK turn" is where you get up to speed (terminal planing velocity) and then you dump the fattest arc you can muster.

If you are a mountain goat and thrive on getting in and out of sketchy lines, then I'd think the 161 might be perfect.

Check package details, lot of companies include pow skis/ boards as part of the deal.

I'll be taking my RaptorX if I'm able to go next season.
