Default 2007 Burton Custom. Looking for something more Agile

Hey all, I hate to start another thread saying "which board should I get?" However, I want some various inputs.

I'm currently riding a 158 2007 Burton Custom which I believe is camber.
I ride the north east, so there's a lot of hard pack, ice, and the mountains are normally very crowded. I ride blacks at times but mainly blue. Some small jumps, but nothing else in the park. So I want something that's very agile, to handle the ice and be able to more around the crowds with easy. I'm not bombing because I ride responsibly. If there's room obviously I pick up speed.

I'm 6' 185. I was thinking I could get a shorter board and it would accomplish my goal, but I wanted some other opinions.
My eye is on the 153 Lib Tech T. Rice Pro

TL;DR - Board recommendation coming from a 2007 Burton Custom. Looking for something more toss-able for North East boarding.

Thanks to the community for all the advice!

Chris

There are a number of boards that you should consider. As you are currently riding camber and you are looking for something more agile, I suggest you check out something with an RCR profile, perhaps something with MT for edge hold. Along with the TRP (CRC & Mellow MT), check out the Rossignol One Magtek ( Aggresive MT), Jones Mountain Twin ( Mellow MT) (both RCR).

All of these boards will deliver what you are looking for. But HOW they do that will be different. Any chance you can demo before you buy?

I was looking more towards CRC. Whats the biggest difference between RCR and CRC?

The T.Rice is CRC.

How about the idea of going to a shorter board? Any input on that?

I ride a Lando Phoenix ( same profile as the TRP ) and a Rossi One Magtek.

The biggest difference I feel between the two is the Lando has a "looser" feeling, not quite as "locked in" a ride relative to the Rossi. I would say the Lando is a "more agile" ride. You will experience a different type of ride, but you won't give up too much of the stability you have experienced on your Custom

As for going short, the shorter the deck , the more agile it will be. Just beware you will give up some stability and speed the shorter you go.

At your size and weight, I might suggest that 153 is a tad smaller than you want to go. 157 TRP will "feel" shorter than your 158 Custom.
