Protocol CTX 155 is too short? - Snowboarding Forum

Really quick size question. Looking at a proto CTX. I'm 6'1 188lbs, size 12, newer rider. Would be doing Very little park.

The guy at the store said 155 would be great for me and 158 would be the harder to ride, but probably the longest he'd suggest.

Do I go 155 or 158? All the boards I've rented so far have been 158.

I would say the 158 if little park, but some more people will hopefully chime in here.

If you know what you're doing, you won't have a problem.

I'd go 155. But why are you even buying a proto as a beginner board?

Because why buy a board that will get 20days maybe team want an upgrade.

Uh thats exactly why....unless your riding style stays exactly the same as you progress its a waste of a board

Considering it's often refereed to as a quiver killer he will be alright. Plus in a 58 at his weight it will give him better all mountain options.

I'm the same weight as you and demoed the 158 CTX this weekend. I thought it was the perfect size for that board. 155 would feel a bit too small, to me, as you progress.

Go 158 for sure. I am 6'3" and 200 lbs (190 if I' riding a bunch) and ride the 157 Proto CT. You will outgrow the 155 way too fast and want a longer board after a week.
