Default Burton Custom boards

Anyone here use this board? What is the difference between the Custom and the Custom Second? The 2008 model is pretty cheap so its between this or the Darkstar. Any reviews on these?

Seconds are just boards with cosmetic blemishes, nothing besides that wrong with it. Most of the time its not even noticable.

Opinions? Yes. I have plenty.

What kind of riding you (mostly) do?

Mostly jumps and cruising down the mountain. Havent really got into the rails too much yet. Stayed away from parks because my current board is a piece of junk. I started getting into them end of last season.

I've only ridden the Custom a few times. IMHO, it is NOT a park board by any means, as it is way too stiff for serious park riding. Aside from that, it's a decent all mountain deck.

So too stiff for park which is what im trying to get into. I guess ill just have to go with my first instinct and go with the Darkstar. I was just trying to find a way to save a few hundred on the board and maybe get better bindings.

darkstar for sure, compared side-by-side, almost all the burton boards underperform to most their competitors.

The darkstar is a really good board good for playing around in the park and on the rest of the mountain. It will be worth the extra bones

so far for bindings under $150, I've really only heard good things about the union cadets, haven't personally ridden them though.

hit up BurtonAvenger, he'll be able to get you hooked up with the right bindings.

for more expensive bindings, check out the k2 auto's, formulas, and rome 390's. If you want crazy colors, I think the k2 sweaters are rainbowed out formulas.

and despite what some may say here, I'm probably getting Union contacts, they're a park binding for a good price.

What is your basis for this claim?
