New board for the park

I started riding last year and picked it up pretty quickly. I rode a 161 GNU CHB MTX board with a pair of mission bindings. I had several problems with the bindings and I picked up some 390s in the offseason for 90 bucks. Overall the board was good, but I started getting into more jumps/butters/boxes near the end of the season. I was looking to pick up an alternative board that I could have a bit more versatility in the park with. I am 6'1 170 with a size 11 boot. I was looking at the 158 Wide GNU Rider's Choice BTX Wide possibly. Any advice?

If you want a park board don't look at something stiffer than the CHB.

You won't need a wide board with size 11 shoes and a 158/161 seems a bit long for someone who is 170lbs.

I have a word limit on my cynicism

When I bought the board, that's what the guy at the shop recommended. What size do you think I should be riding?

for a strictly park board 155 to 157 would be fine. 155 maybe a bit on the short side.

I'm 165 and I ride a 56 to 63 for park but thats my personally. For you 155 seems more ideal. The RC is a fairly stiff board. If you're looking for a park do all stick from Mervin look at the TRS or Dark series. If you're open to other brands k2 jibpan, k2 darkstar, never summer evo, ride concept ul, smokin mip, atomic hatchet, you could always take a look at my big review in the reviews section as well to get an idea of whats out there.

I ended up getting a 156 skate banana. Got it 5% off, free shipping and no tax from the-house.com if anyone else is looking to get one.
