Recommendations for all mountain board
 

Ok so I want a board that can be stable and responsive and hold an edge nuking down groomers in the mountains and float well in the pow but still be good at pulling off aerial manoeuvre in the park. (no rails, boxes or jibbing. Just aerial manoeuvres.) I want it to be burton.

I was thinking of a Burton Custom Flying V but am unsure of length? I am 5,12 and 165 pounds. I would get a 158 for dedicated pow and groomers but would that be too long for spins and such? How about a 156? Any other recommendations for a board that fits the bill or am I wanting something that does not exist?

I heard the Custom V was squirelly but I've only tried the cambered one, can't comment on that.

However last I checked there were still 12 inches in a foot, so I'm pretty sure you're 6 feet tall :)

My buddy rides a Custom FV all over and he's pretty damn good, but I pull away from him on groomers and on steep chutes with a camber board.

I just picked up a Custom camber 156 (I'm 175 lb) for riding those non-pow days at Lake Louise.

FV is fine so long as you are not riding icy hard pack. Seeing you are from Wild Rose country, I would say you can consider it.

how about a burton vapor?

Yeah if you can get one for a good price. I wouldn't pay too much for one... Prior to 2012 they had the alumafly core that my T7 has, it's very responsive but can transfer too much energy to the topsheet spider cracking it when you hit some rocks. Great board though...

Yes vapor will fit all your requirements, it will be better than custom flyng V in the areas you list except the Flying V will be better in powder due to the reverse camber in the middle. Vapor will be significantly better for fast carving and poppier off jumps. I use mine for what you describe and really like it, I'm on my 2nd one and in a few years I will replace it with another one.
