are helmets ridiculously awkward, like with skateboards? they're unnaturally thick and make you feel really wierd. Do snowboard helmets fit more snuggly? Or are they bulky and annoying?
(generally: low profile, comfortable, light. really, is there something like that out there, that isn't crazy expensive? i've found things at like 35 dollars, but i don't know if they fit my preferences) Last edited by zetoastking; 09-07-2008 at 03:17 PM. |

the bern brentwood is a pretty low pro helmet. and it can be used for both skate and snow.
dont know what you classify as exuberant, but the brent is only $60 which for a snow helmet ain't bad.

I second Nivek. Bern makes some really nice, low profile helmets that meet the certifications necessary.
I think all helmets are like a new pair of underwear... at first it's constrictive, but after a while it becomes a part of you. Also, getting a helmet that fits properly is vital. You should go to a core shop and try on a bunch of different brands because each one has it's own fit. The rep will help you find a helmet that fits you right. Don't forget to ask if the helmet is compatible with the goggles you use because they have to fit the helmet.
