New board for my second year, help - Snowboarding Forum

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to this forum. So glad I found this one. A lot more informative and helpful than the others i've been on.

I am about 5' 11, weigh 190lbs and wear a size 9.5-10 boot. I purchased a Salomon Arnie Salomon Arnie 5000 2007 - product details, tests and photos size 159, not knowing that it was a park board. I was told that it was a decent purchase for a beginner.

I'm looking to get a board that will get me down the hill without much stress. With this board I find that I skid a lot, I think its because its too fexible. Correct me if i'm wrong.

What's the correct board size for me and can you guys suggest any boards that would suit just mountain riding on groomed and fresh snow.

Yea...Just learned about the MTX technology.. How about the GNU CHB MTX?
