Whats up everyone, was hoping a few of you would have some advice for me about picking up a new board and even if you have some binding suggestions to stick on the board would be great.
Finally getting back into it boarding after a long long break and it was just like riding a bike. I would consider myself an intermediate rider who prefers all mountain, powder, messing around in the park, doing some buttering and all that fun stuff. Basically I like it all but would say lean more towards the off the beaten path type of rider and enjoy powder but also like some park and bombing down. ![]() Sadly I live in NY and my options for good powder and backcountry is nonexistent so I have to work with what I got. Hopefully a few trips out west in the future. I'm approx. 5'9", 155 lbs and wear a size 9/9.5 shoe. I've been looking at Lib Tech and NS and they seem to be 2 of the more popular companies out there. Any suggestions on board/size/bindings to pair with the board would be great and much appreciated! Also I've been considering going with a dual BOA system boot and was looking at the DC Judge but read a post about someone complaining about pressure points in the DC's, not sure if that's a common problem with most people. Thanks for help and glad I found the forums! This shit never existed in middle school

For a Riders Choice I'd go with the 154.5 at your weight. The 151.5cm might let you down when you're bombing through crud or in powder. I ride a 154.5 at 165lb. I have a 157.7cm Riders Choice for when conditions are NW death crust gnarly.
At your specs the 154.5 will still be great for parkin' and flat land stuff. Magnatraction will make shitty ice coast days fun. Or at least you won't have to clench your sphincter as much as everyone else scraping about. Personally I ride Burton Cartel ReFlex with mine and it's a great pairing. I'm not a big jibber through so some might recommend something a bit softer. Last edited by Fergatron2000; 03-15-2013 at 05:21 PM. |
