Ride Kink - for son ?? - Snowboarding Forum

I did search through the forum for answers but thought this was more specific of a question so here goes....

Wife and son brought home an 07-08? Ride Kink 147.....found it in the back of the shop so it was $150. Of course the kid is stoked cause it looks new and cool - Mom thought it was a good deal. I now question if this is even the correct board for him. We can take it back......from what I see it is more of a park board? If it helps it is the red/maroon sparkle deck with black/gold bottom.

12 year old boy - 5' at 100 lb - riding 3 years - is fairly competent - wants to do the cool stuff but is cautious. Into all around riding - little bit of jumps, little bit of rails and will still take runs with the old man cruising down the mountain.

Is this an OK board for him for now? It seems a little bit on the long side as of right now (forehead) but I bet he shoots up in the next year.

Any advice is appreciated.

It should last him as he grows and puts on weight (will be a little big to start).

I just picked one up from a friend and its a massive park board and perfect for "all the cool stuff"
youre kid will love it.
