burton mayhem wide: length/quality - Snowboarding Forum

hi all,

i bought the burton mayhem wide, so i had to pick between 159 or 165 , i had the option of waiting a few days and think about it and thought i'd ask you folks...
i'm :
- 1m88
- 80kg
- all mountain freestyler (steep, a day in the park and some powder)
- 6 weeks experience

apart from that , any of you guys have some feedback on the quality of the burton mayhem (wide)?

Being that you're 176 lbs., I would go with the 159 if you plan on hitting the park and riding all-mountain freestyle. I haven't ridden the Mayhem wide, but I have ridden the Burton Bullet, a wide all mountain board very similar to the Mayhem, so I can only give my opinion on the Bullet. I like it, although it is a little heavy. It does very well in the powder, decent flex, and mediocre pop.

With only six weeks experience, I think you'll like it.

I am curious though, what size boot are you wearing?

I'd imagine a size 12 or so, being that you're 6'2"

OK good, a lot of times people with size 10.5 or 11 boots get talked into wide boards when they are not needed. Sorry I couldn't help with the Mayhem, but good luck with your research.
