Kinda sucks but understandable. Tons of people took advantage of it.

What is the change? Does it affect those who already bought?

Ok I see it now.

It's funny because on their homepage, it still says 100% guaranteed returns and when you click on it, a lightbox appears, with a summary of the old policy.

When you click on it again, it takes you to the full page, which has the changed policy on it.

Will make for some sticky situations until they fix it

No time limit on refunds if never used.
If the gear fails, full credit.
If used and you just want something else, you get 90 days.

You can't just change out equipment willy nilly though.

Still sounds like a kick ass return policy. 90 days is enough to know whether you are going to keep the shit or not.

any outdoor retail company that did this only did so to try and be competitive with REI. REI ended the policy so its not surprising at all that the joneses would too.

Are you sure you're not confusing this with REI?

HOW DO I RETURN OR EXCHANGE AN ORDER? Print Article
Not stoked on your gear? Looking to return it or make an exchange? No problem. If your new and unused gear just doesn’t fit your needs, we will issue you a full refund. If your gear fails, at anytime, we will also issue you a full credit. No questions asked.

• You can return your new purchase at anytime after purchase

o Products must be in the condition you received them in and the original box and/or packaging

• We do accept used gear – as long as it is received within 90 days of purchase date – and we will issue a credit for full purchase price

If you’d like to exchange your product for something else, the best thing to do is to return your item for a full refund and place a new order at the same time. Placing the new order now just ensures that you’ll get it quickly, and that it won’t go out of stock. Don’t worry, you’ll get your refund as soon as our Returns Department receives your original package.

Thats still a pretty awesome return policy. You get 3 months of winter to try out gear and if it blows just send it back. I imagine they lost crap loads of money from people sending back 2 year old gear that couldnt be resold.
