I taught my daughter to ride late last season, we got out 3 times and she did very well. She wants to ride more this season, as usual we will be getting a season pass to our local hill and she will be going with the school ski club.
She had dreams of riding some park, very beginner boxes and rollers but who knows how fast if at all she may progress in the park.

Great father daughter time regardless of where we ride.

Can anyone recommend a few boards for her?
What size board? I'm thinking 139cm
Should I limit our search to "girl boards" or just look for a board same way I'd search for me?
Seems silly but should it be a "girls board" and not what ever we find that she likes, graphics, size, flex etc hope I phrased that right?
Thinking hybrid camber with med flex. This would be a good all mountain/park board for her.

Just looking for insight from girls/women, dads, boyfriends that got girlfriends boards and anyone that wants to chime in on my "another board thread"
at this time of year online retailers and local shops will be offering deep discounts.

Consider burton feelgood Smalls or burton feather, both in 140.

pick and choose your battles wisely...

helmet...win
boots...compromise but insist on reasonable fitting...she is still growing
board...loose
clothes...don't even go there
aggressive...go bigger stiffer
timid...go smaller flexier
lessons from a cute guy...ur the best dad
u try to teach her...ur insane

both riding together...win/win

however u have leverage if she becomes a pow bunny...ride to hill and other supports for good grades and staying out of trouble...
and she is a captive audience in the car ride with dear old dad...win...and will get to teach her how to drive in snow...maybe a loose?

I don't know where you live; but our local shop are all selling skateboards and they don't even like to bring snow gear out, let alone give a discount on it.

Our local shop just got in some 2014 K2 gear they just put out. I'm in good with my local shop, I'm in there visiting him year round. I know his wife and kids and he's always welcome to drink my beer I buy all my gear from him and he knows it and his customer service to me and my family have earned my business.

Wraith: she will be getting new boots, fit properly. If they only last 1 yr I'm fine with that I'll just sell them on CL. This is what I did for my boys. One year I had to buy the oldest 2 new sets of boots he grew so fast. Like everyone said, boots are the most important. all great points except the cute instructor snow bunny one I'm so not ready for that even though I see this as a real possibility.... Again she expressed interest in the park last year and we started riding over basic rollers and she loved it, baby steps. It would be awesome if she can keep up with the average boy park rider her same age, which again I see as a real possibility

I'm gonna explore all options and the input has been great.

Wiresport: I wonder if you can send me more details or PM on boot fitting this has peaked my interest.

Deacon: where/when you in town?

I just called my buddy at my local shop and I got the 1st hook up of the season and it's for the daughter. His wife has a pair of brand new 2013 32's she used once that will fit my daughter, hopefully. Going in to get her fit this weekend or sometime soon.

Still looking around for boards no rush, I did see a Capita Space Metal Fantasy FK about $150 on Geartrade per Deacon's suggestion. Still trolling CL and it's very early to start seeing lots of gear on CL.

I"ll keep everyone posted and keep the suggestions coming.
Thanks

We're rolling in tomorrow, going to the Brewers game, and then wednesday heading up to Green Bay for the Packer shareholder meeting. My inlaws thought it'd be HILARIOUS to buy a Vikings fan stock in the Packers, so I think it'll be equally as funny to wear my Vikings hat to the meeting...

I'm recalling what happened to that (baseball) Giants fan outside Dodgers Stadium.

Hopefully we"ll see you back here?

It's Green Bay, not LA.... I think I'll be ok.

Go all out; buy a Seahawks hat and wear that. Packers/Viking rivalry is awesome and one of the best in the NFL, but most Packers fans I know right now are still fuming over the Seahawks game last year.
