Halp, Getting Snow Gear Tomorrow

SnowJam San Diego starts tomorrow and I am planning on buying a set of outerware, however I don't really know whats nessasary. There are some choices of jackets that I don't fully inderstand like, shell jacket, or insulated jacket, or 3-in-1 jacket. Which one of these do I need? Do I really need goggles? Snow pants and gloves I think are pretty obvious.

A shell is the outer layer of every snow jacket you see. An insulated jacket is that outer shell lined with insulation of some sort. A 3-in-1 is a shell combined with a removable insulated liner. A soft shell is just the liner (but with more style).

Goggles are always a must.

I'd recommend a shell and some base layer stuff.
