What Board To Get

i am 175 pounds (i know get arounda 157 size) i do need a WIDE board for my foot size...i generally stay in the park the most of the time...ive been checking out the K2 darkstar and last time i posted someone told me that the 157 k2 darkstar would be the perfect board.. when i went to my local Ski Barn...i asked some guy about the board and pretty much he ripped me to shreds saying that it is only 1 step above a rental board...what board should i get that is no more the 450 and not have to deal with a noob board...also was the guy just saying this so he can make more money?

The Darkstar is a perfectly good board dude, far above the standard of rental boards in fairness. If the guy was a dick to you then I would take your business elsewhere, its only them losing out for doing a shitty job. See if you can find a proper independent board shop and speak to someone who has a clue about boarding.

Well what's your foot size?

Also I wish I could go in that shop I'd have the guy crying. I love making those idiots at box stores cry its funny.

Angry Snowboarder Because someone has to call it how they see it!

the store itself is actually pretty large..my foot size is 12 and i have bindings that fit accordingly ( Ride NRC)...im planning on getting new boots but first i need a new board...

he wasnt acting like a asshole...he looked like he knew alot and presented himself in a good way...im guessing they may make comission there and he wants to make more money

but besides the K2 what else would be a option...or if you were me would you choose the K2

well first off that salesman is either a douche for trying to sell a inferior product so he can make better commission or hes an dumbass and im leaning towards the latter knowing the intelligence of most salesmen in snowboard stores. The k2 would be a great board for you however if you really wanted to get a different park board for less than 450 you could go with the Capita Stairmaster, Capita Mid Life Lost ( both available in wide), Burton Blunt Wide, Forum Destroyer Wide, Nitro t1 Wide, Nitro Team Art Attack Wide, Ride Dose. Thoes are a pretty good spectrum of good park boards that range from low 300s to 450. All are available in wide. I would personally recommend the Nitro t1 or Capita Stairmaster. Up to you, and good luck with your purchase.
